The Winners will be notified by email on September 7, 2019, using the details disclosed on the entry form. The winners’ names and their winning entry will also be published on this website, Pursehouse Rural website, www.pursehouserural.com.au, and our social media pages.
The People’s Choice award will be awarded to the photograph with the most votes by decided date , using our competition voting system. The people’s choice is taken into consideration when deciding the winners of the Pursehouse Rural photography competition. Our judges will use the people’s choice to inform their final decision. The winner of the Pursehouse Rural photography competition will be awarded a $500 voucher to spend at any Pursehouse Rural store.
To vote in the People’s Choice Award just select the ‘Vote for this photo!’ button located at the bottom of the enlarged image. To enlarge the image just click on a photograph thumbnail from the competition gallery. Any website visitor can vote once per photo for the People’s Choice Award. The number of votes a photo has gained is indicated by the heart symbol and number located at the bottom of each photo.
There is no guarantee the ‘People’s Choice’ winning photograph will be included in the published calendar. The judges will select photographs that meet the criteria and are otherwise suitable for publication in the Pursehouse Rural 2020 Calendar.

- $25 Pursehouse Rural gift vouchers will be awarded to all photos selected to be in the 2020 Pursehouse Rural Calendar.
All Pursehouse Rural vouchers are eligible for use in any Pursehouse Rural store.
The winners will be based upon the public vote and input from a panel of judges from the Pursehouse Rural Marketing team, including a professional photographer.
A maximum of 3 photographs can be uploaded per entrant.
Entries to this year’s photography competition should be uploaded by Friday 2nd August.
If you wish to submit additional images at a later date, log-in by selecting the ‘Your Images’ link. Enter your login details in the form provided and you will then have access to your previous images and can upload new images using the same account.
Photographs will not displayed publicly until our judges have approved the photo for display on the website. Photographs will generally be approved within 1-3 days of submission. If the judges do not consider the Photograph suitable for the competition it will not be approved and will remain pending approval or deactivated.
Yes, but photographs must be considered by the judges to be consistent with the theme ‘Agriculture: Standing the Test of Time’ with images depicting life in rural Australia.
If you are selected as a winner and have people included in your photo, Pursehouse Rural will provide an appropriate release from and you will be asked to submit the release at that time
Yes – cropped photographs are eligible.
Yes. Also, color photographs changed to black and white are acceptable.
In order to be suitable for publication in our 2020 calendar, photographs that are submitted must be of high resolution in JPEG (.jpg) format. The file needs to be a minimum 220mm x 155mm at 300dpi (2598 x 1831 pixels – 75dpi) and maximum of 10MB .
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, entrants grant Pursehouse Rural a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly and all other standard Pursehouse Rural purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Pursehouse Rural will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
